Whenever we hear “World’s First..” or “The Best..” we’re extremely skeptical about it. Just those 2 simple words are becoming a buzz phrase that people just throw around to promote their gimmick.
But when the “World’s First” true in-ear Wi-Fi headphones have been sold out for the past couple months, it shows a little promise that it’s just not another piece of junk.
Introducing the STRIVA TAP by Koss ($500) – a device that looks a lot like a Wii Remote (doesn’t it?).
Featured under the black shellac finish, is a musical powerhouse that lets you listen to tunes in 3 different ways.
The first is their bread and butter – the Wi-Fi access point. You can stream thousands of free, high-quality internet stations directly on the headphones. Second is the Content Access Point (CAP), which you plug into any phone, tablet or MP3 player. Lastly is a normal audio cable which you use to connect the headphones to an audio device (but where’s the fun in that?).
If you manage to get one of these in your ears, enjoy it. From the looks of the reviews, it seems like this is where the future of ear buds are heading.
