Coming this fall, users will finally have a throne suitable to support their computer needs as well as their mobile needs – introducing the Steelcase Gesture Chair ($TBD).
Office chairs in general are designed to support the postures of bloggers, coders and pretty much everyone else. As mobile devices enter the workforce, health and posture are becoming an issue again and your normal chairs won’t cut it.
Through a global study that spanned across 11 countries and over 2,000 people, Steelcase identified 9 new postures as a result of these mobile devices. With this shocking research, they designed a chair that was inspired by the human body.
The Gesture Chair is compromised of 3 critical areas – the Core, the Limb, and the Seat interface, and depending on how your body is situated, the 3 areas will adjust to support the new position.
